As the calendar flips from November and heads into December, as the old saying goes, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year.” To the residents of the local community, this means just minutes away from your home in the South Lakes new home community, the return of the Fuquay Holiday Events will once again transform downtown into a winter wonderland.
The most traditional of all traditions among the Fuquay Holiday Events will take place this year on Thursday, November 29 from 6-8 pm, with the spectacular Fuquay Varina Tree Lighting Ceremony taking place in the parking lot located next to Ann’s Diamond Center. In addition, to get into the “spirit of the season,” there will not only be a visit from Santa Claus to join those in attendance in some holiday themed activities, but there will also be an on-site ice skating rink. As all have become accustomed to on the night, there will also be the always popular Sleigh Rides through Downtown.
Taking off from the TR Ashworth building at 120 South Main Street in the historic district, the Sleigh Rides in Downtown, also taking place on November 29 from 6-8 pm, are sure to fill up quickly and residents are urged to get tickets early to avoid any disappointment, as due to the immense popularity of this attraction the town has limited 700 tickets to be sold for these rides through Fuquay.
As if these annual favorites among the Fuquay Holiday Events is not enough, the Fuquay-Varina Christmas Parade will cap off the weekend festivities, taking place in the Fuquay Historic District downtown at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 2.
The Fuquay Holiday Events are a great way to get the whole family, both young and old, into the spirit of the season. For more information on these and all the great upcoming events in Fuquay, visit fuquay-varinadowntown.com
