Homebrew, Tasty Food, and Soccer: Soktoberfest highlights upcoming Fall Events in Wake County

Both the sports fan and the beer enthusiast under your roof at your new dream home in the Sedgefield new home community  will want to mark the date of Saturday, September 26 on their calendar, as just up the street at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, the Carolina Railhawks will not only be hosting the Ottawa Fury for an exciting North American Soccer League contest, but prior to the game, they will host one of the most anticipated Fall Events in Wake County as their annual Homebrew Soktoberfest returns for the 4th consecutive year

Soktoberfest is the RailHawks own personal take on a German Oktoberfest, complete with German-themed food samples (in addition to traditional North Carolina fare) and a focus on the Triangle area’s local craft and home brewers. With the festivities for what is becoming a tradition among Fall Events in Wake County beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the field at WakeMed Soccer Park, there are currently 14 area brewers scheduled to be on hand offering up a taste of their unique flavors to those in attendance. One of the participating brewers will be named “Homebrew Soktoberfest Champion,” after the fans in attendance have had the chance to taste each of the entries and then vote to decide on a winner.

The Soktoberfest activities are not just limited to the homebrew tasting, as a variety of “tastes” is what sets this event apart from most other Fall Events in Wake County. Complimentary food samples will be offered up by FirewurstThe Chef’s Academy, and Passante’s, and beer and wine will be available for purchase from RA JeffreysAdams Vineyards, and LoneRider. North American Wine & Spirits will also being on hand, giving “Soktoberfesters” a free taste fitting for the season, Crown Royal Regal Apple. As if these tasty options weren’t enough, live music is always a big part of any Fall Events in Wake County, and compliments of Reverb Nation, the “party grooves” of the Durty Dub Band will provide a backdrop of fun tunes throughout the festivities.

As if all of those festivities weren’t enough entertainment, immediately following Soktoberfest, the hometown Carolina Ralhawks will take to the WakeMed Soccer Park field and showcase their world class talents in an important league matchup with the visiting Ottawa Fury. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kick off.
