One of the most highly anticipated annual events in Fuquay-Varina, just minutes away from your new home at the South Lakes community returns on Saturday, September 22, as the BBQ, Blues, and Brews Festival will be held from 2:00- 7:00 p.m. with funds from the event going towards the revitalization of the downtown area.
Overseen and run once again by the Fuquay-Varina Downtown Association (FVDA), the event’s page describes the annual favorite as one that “features all the things people LOVE about North Carolina…BBQ, Blues, Bluegrass Music and Craft Beer.” Event guests at the Fuquay BBQ, Blues, and Brews Festival can stroll through the three separate contest zones at the event, sampling the best in local NC, tasty craft beers from our great Fuquay breweries, and of course a wide variety of the best live bluegrass and blues that you will hear anywhere around.
Speaking of the great musical talent to be featured throughout the day at the Fuquay BBQ, Blues, and Brews Festival, there will be live music on both the Stephens Stage and Aviator Stage for the entire five-hour event. In addition to the great live music, featuring their own BBQ and Beer in each “zone” at the Fuquay BBQ, Blues, and Brews Festival at the three separate areas in downtown’s Historic Varina district will be several of our local favorite breweries/restaurant establishments
“Tasting Tickets” for the Fuquay BBQ, Blues, and Brews Festival are just $20 and allow you to sample any 20 delicious BBQ samples of your own choosing. The public will be judging and helping to select their favorite BBQ for the “People’s Choice” award at the Fuquay BBQ, Blues, and Brews Festival. There will also be a five-judge panel who will select the first, second, and third place BBQ in a “bling judging” taste test with prize money being awarded to each of the top three chosen as the best BBQ at the Fuquay BBQ, Blues, and Brews Festival.
