Fuquay in the Fall Equals Fun

With the air cooling a bit, and the leaves starting to change, the fall season is upon us, and in Fuquay-Varina that not only means festivals and fun for area residents.

The Fuquay-Varina Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor their annual “Haunted Trail” event on Saturday, October 13, hoping to build on the crowd of over 450 people who came out for “a scare” at last year’s event. This will take place at Carroll Howard Johnson Environmental Education Park at 301 Wagstaff Road. The event offers a more family friendly trail ride  from 5-6 p.m. and then the “Full Fright” for the more daring folks from 7-9. The Parks and Recreation department will also sponsor a Halloween Sundae Social for all preschool age children at the Community Center on October 31 from 2-3 p.m.

The local merchants in the Fuquay and Varina retail districts will also be getting into the business of delivering fall inspired fun, as  on Friday, October 25, they will host “Trick or Treat in Downtown.” Business across downtown welcome parents and kids alike to get their costumes on and stop in with their “goody sacks” open at any of the participating stops. The following day on October 26, the Revitalization Association will try to “warm up” the community, as they host a Chili Cook Off as part of the Day in Downtown Street Festival.’ The public votes on the awards at the cook off, and the Street Festival, in its 11th year will additionally feature music, contests, arts and crafts, and much more.

Community events such as these are exactly what makes Fuquay-Varina and South Lakes the perfect community for you and your family to settle down into your new home. The countless custom home options and on site home builders offered at South Lakes will put you not only in the house of your dreams, but also right in the middle of fantastic family friendly, fun community events such as these all year round.
