With the three prominent area Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) men’s basketball programs just kicking off their 2014-15 seasons, the sports fanatic in your house at Fuquay-Varina’s South Lakes new home neighborhood can rest assured that the Raleigh area College Basketball rivalries are the hottest in the country and only just mere minutes away.

With the three local squads, the Duke University Blue Devils, the University of North Carolina (UNC) Tar Heels, and the North Carolina State Wolfpack all looking strong and ready to compete this year, the Triangle sports enthusiast can circle several dates on their winter calendar already, as each of these Raleigh area College Basketball Rivalries are set to take to the court and go to battle with one another in the upcoming months moving towards tournament time.

With both the Blue Devils and the Tar Heels predicted to make a legitimate run at a national title this season, their always exciting and heated matchups could stand to be more interesting than ever in 2015. Duke, who plays there home contests at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham will welcome there rivals to campus on February 18, while the teams will also square off in their last regular season game of the year in Chapel Hill at the Dean Smith Center on March 7. Duke will only take on N.C. State once this year, traveling to Raleigh’s PNC Arena for a January 11 matchup with the Wolfpack.

UNC and N.C. State will also play a home and home series to renew their classic rivalry, with the Heels heading into Raleigh for a January 14 showdown, before hosting the Pack at the Smith Center on February 24.

With each school’s team out to a promising start to the new season as they move forward in conference play, the early Spring of 2015 should prove once again very interesting for each of these Raleigh area College Basketball rivals.
