The best teams in NCAA Division I men’s soccer will be coming to town, just a quick drive from Fuquay Varina’s South Lakes new home community on December 12 and 14, as the road to a national championship passes through the Wake Med Soccer Park with the facility host the semifinals and championship game of the 2014 College Cup.
With the tournament kicking off in late November and pitting the top 48 teams in the country against one another, all roads to this year’s National Championship converge in Cary. Of interest from our home state of North Carolina, several teams will hope to battle through the field and make their way into the final four participants that will face off in Cary starting on December 12. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Wake Forest University, and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington will all be included in this years’ field, just three wins away from a College Cup birth and a chance to take the top prize on their home state’s soil.
