After pouring over the numbers, they look at two major categories and plug the numbers in to come up with the final rankings of the Safest Cities in NC.

The categories used by the Safe Wise team in the comparison are first, the number in each town of violent crimes (aggravated assault, forcible rape, murder, and robbery) as well the overall number of property crimes (arson, burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft).
