Safest Cities in North Carolina

Your decision to move your family and raise your children in your dream home at the South Lakes new home neighborhood due to the family friendly atmosphere and spirit of the community is one that many are joining you in, as the town of Fuquay Varina’s being named to the list of “NC’s Safest Cities” has played a large part in the influx of families over the past several years.

The listing of the top 50 NC’s Safest Cities, which was done by, analyzed the cities across the state with a population of at least 5,000 in their study. They utilized the most recent FBI Crime Report to see the numbers in each town of violent crimes (aggravated assault, forcible rape, murder, and robbery) as well a property crimes (arson, burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft) and calculated the chances out of 1,000 of each of these happening.

The rankings, not only showed that their was only a .04 percent chance of a violent crime occurring, but only an 0.75 percent of any property crime occurring as well. The article went on to heap praises on the local law enforcement and both the protection they provide and the fantastic job they do in serving the Fuquay community, saying that the residents can “feel good knowing that you’re protected by a dynamic police department.”

In addition, the article continued with its accolades toward the Fuquay police, saying that they also “earn our respect for reaching out to youth and providing them with interactive, fun programs.” Different activities held to inform youths about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, drinking and driving that are held throughout the year were also commended, as was the town’s “Police Explorers” program that gives kids and teens a chance to take an inside look at life as a Fuquay Varina police officer.
